Started by former StockXpert founders (a successful microstock site subsequently bought out by Jupiterimage and Getty Images), Stockfresh is an up-and-comer to watch. Although it still ranks pretty low in the scheme of things, Stockfresh is a well designed site run by people who have proved they know how to make a company successful. At the moment Stockfresh still has a relatively small image base, so if you’re a newcomer to microstock now is the time to get your foot in the door.
First things first – if you are thinking of signing up to Stockfresh, do it now. The initial approval process (5 images and a biography on yourself) can take a very long time before you hear back. Get the ball rolling now.
It’s great to see another agency that gives it’s contributors a good commission rate right from the start. Stockfresh also has a very easy to use FTP upload system, with no categories or anything to fill out. Just upload and submit. I’ve found their reviewers to be fair and reasonable.
It would be nice to see them start some marketing soon, as not much at all has happened on that front and it shows with the low sales. Understandably they need to have a decent image base first, but now that they have passed the 1 million image mark a while ago it would seem reasonable to start rewarding all their contributors with some marketing efforts.

I filled out the app (did get an auto email of long waits on app approval) but was thrilled when I was approved with in days!
Image approval is lightning fast!
Well that is a HUGE improvement. Most contribs a while back were reporting delays of up to 6 months or more to hear back on new applications!
Good going Kim
By the way Tim your site here is the best and most thorough I’ve seen anywhere! It has been a big help for me, I’ve been involved in stock illustration since 2004 with one co. And just recently spread my wings
What a daunting task it would have been with out this great site!
Aw you’re too kind Kim, thanks
Really glad people are finding it useful. I’ve received a number of emails along those lines and I really do appreciate it.
I still have a few more things I want to add to the site, hopefully I can get them done in the next month or two.
Hmm, perhaps I should have a suggestion box too…
I have an idea… Replace the individual agency blogs with a forum, it would simplify and incourage ongoing discussions.
My 2cents, not much else I’d change as the site rocks
Very true. I have thought about it a bit, and will look into it further. My main worries are spam (what a pain!) and an empty forum. I don’t like seeing forums that look like a ghost town!
But your suggestion is very valid. What I currently have is not ideal.
I’ll add it to my ‘to-do-or-think-about-again’ list.
I see what you mean about an empty forum, didn’t think about that, I am surprised this site isn’t more buzy
Hopefully the new site upgrade will help with that Kim!
Hi Tim,
thank you for this site…really perfect info for beginners as I am
I agree with Kim, its very helpful. There are many webs concerned with stock/microstock photography but most of them are outdated. So, I really appreciate this site. I have found good short reviews of stock agencies and it helps me to spread to more than 4-5 MS agencies. I hope you will continue adding the news on the selected agencies.
Keep up the great work!
Robert
Hi Robert,
Thanks for your great feedback, glad to hear the site is helpful for you.
As I have been focusing on upgrading the site lately, I have spent less time on the articles than I would have liked. But the plan is to keep the agency reviews fresh and up to date. This I’ll be doing over the coming weeks, to make sure they are still accurate (eg: 123RF has changed their royalty structure now, so that needs updating).
Thanks again

Wow, that sounds great! I really appreciate your effort. Also I have registered through your links here to some agencies
